We’ve implemented 11 INITIATIVES to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and utilize resources more efficiently. Here are some highlights to inspire you to make climate-friendly choices too!
In partnership with REVERB’s Music Decarbonization Project, Showpower and CES Power, we’re making history by becoming the first U.S. festival to power a major stage with Showpower’s SmartGrid™ Battery System, which will be charged using existing grid infrastructure. You can expect the highest quality production our teams always deliver, with ZERO onsite carbon emissions, giving you a cleaner, greener show while creating a blueprint for the future of festival production.
In partnership with CES Power and Showpower, three of our stages have been transitioned from generators to the local grid! With the addition of the Cove’s SmartGrid™ Battery System, this means a majority of our stages now run generator free, as well as a significant amount of our offices and concessions. These transitions reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and their emissions.
After measuring energy usage during the festival since 2023, the internationally renowned experts at Showpower developed a Smart Power Plan for our production that continues to help us conserve resources and reduce emissions. Our power provider, CES Power implements efficiency strategies identified by the plan in several areas across our event site! This year, we’ll continue our power logging program to inform future reduction opportunities.
Our team, with the support of a verified assessment and offsetting platform, is assessing the carbon footprint of our power, production, transport, and waste. This assessment will be used internally to recommend strategies for us to shift toward a climate-healthy future and to inform future offsetting plans!
We are continuing to offset emissions from certain aspects of last year’s production by supporting regional, nature-based projects through our verified partners at We Are Neutral – while keeping our main focus on emissions reduction!
We’ve asked our food & beverage partners at Event Hospitality Solutions to include local food vendors and ask all vendors to provide vegan and vegetarian options for you to enjoy. In 2025, over 50% of our food vendors were local, and 75% offered at least one plant-based menu item. Eating local and shifting towards a plant-based menu will reduce emissions from food sourcing, transport and animal agriculture.
Our team and volunteers will collect any rescuable food from vendors and catering to support Miami Rescue Mission, our partnering local homeless outreach center. This reduces greenhouse gas emissions from food waste in landfills while supporting those in need in our community! Since 2022, this initiative has donated over 65K pounds of food and beverages.
We aim to prioritize Florida-based vendors across all our production areas, giving you the highest quality show while supporting the local economy and minimizing carbon emissions from our teams’ travel and transport. The vast majority of our internal staff are locally-based and many of our vendors are Florida-based.
Public transit is much more climate-friendly than personal vehicles, carrying more people with less emissions and providing opportunities to go electric! Skip the traffic and reduce your impact by opting for one of these options.
