We’re working with Clean Vibes to keep our event as clean as possible and with their help after the event, we’ll clean Bayfront Park to the highest standards. We also restore grass and vegetation as needed after the event, to leave the park even better than we found it! Learn how you can leave no trace here and learn how you can volunteer with Clean Vibes here.
“Making Waves”, our annual Bayfront Park shoreline cleanup, was a huge success! In partnership with Clean Miami Beach, Debris Free Oceans, Love the Everglades Movement, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Bye Bye Plastic Foundation and Miami Dade County’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program, over 170 volunteers removed 888 pounds of trash from Bayfront Park’s shoreline on Saturday, March 7th! Volunteers were treated to Ultra merchandise and music, plus one lucky volunteer won a pair of tickets to Ultra! Since 2020, 1,000 cleanup participants have removed over 4,200 pounds of waste from the shoreline. Join us next year.
During the festival, keep an eye out for our Mission: Home heroes coming around in blue Ultra superhero capes to dance with you while we all clean up our dance floors together. Participate and you might just be in for a surprise gift!
Cigarette butts do not biodegrade and they leach toxicants into our soil and water, so make sure they always go in the trash. You can also use one of the cigarette disposal towers we’ll disperse throughout the event or get yourself a free pocket ashtray! Ask for one in the Eco Village, while supplies last.
The trees at Bayfront Park are vital to our ecosystem – they clean our air, shade us from heat and provide habitat and food for wildlife! Our staff and vendors have been asked to be extra mindful of trees and vegetation… you should be too! Never scrape, carve or climb trees and never trample or pull vegetation. A variety of birds, mammals, reptiles and insects call Bayfront Park home too. Leave them be. Never approach or harass wildlife.
Local naturalists and ecologists have taught our team about the vegetation and ecosystems present all around Ultra, so that we can work towards preserving them. Our wildlife partners also provide strategies to protect the animals that call Bayfront Park home. You can learn too, by finding our “Connect to Nature” educational signage placed in special spots throughout the festival.
Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, a South Florida sanctuary that has provided care for over 45K animals, released a pair of newly-rehabilitated seagulls at our annual Shoreline Cleanup. What better way for this partnership to take flight!
Did you know Miami’s storm drains dump directly into Biscayne Bay? In partnership with SOP Technologies, we’ll protect the storm drains present at and around Bayfront Park in order to keep the bay safe from pollution. Every year, we place protections on 26 storm drains. At our event or anywhere else, NEVER throw trash into a storm drain!
We’ll still give you quite the show, but we’ll continue doing it using close-proximity pyrotechnic alternatives and without balloons, confetti or streamers, as these can pollute the grounds and waters surrounding the festival.
Glitter is a microplastic that is virtually impossible to remove from grounds and rarely biodegrades. Do not bring loose glitter to the show. Our security teams have been instructed to confiscate it!
We’re bringing back our vendor and staff guidelines for avoiding spillage and run-off to keep grounds and waters safe from potentially hazardous fluids.
Ultra uses mulch made from local landscape trimmings to contribute to healthy soil by utilizing only regional organic materials and removing pollution risk.
When the lights go down, you can help us cleanup! Stick around at Main and Live Stages for a 20 minute countdown after the end of the show, where you can turn in a bag of trash to receive exclusive Ultra merchandise. Just find the Clean Vibes team at the rail to get a trash bag!
