Community Engagement

We’ve implemented 19 INITIATIVES to engage our community. Here are some highlights from what we’re doing… PLUS how you can participate!

Back to Mission: Home

Vibing in the Eco Village

The Eco Village is a can’t miss! With the Oasis stage at its center, it has shade structures, places to lounge, live art and immersive education experiences from our local partners. Engage and connect with Debris Free Oceans, Clean Miami Beach, CLEO Institute, Love the Everglades Movement, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station and Baptist Health South Florida to learn about protecting the environment and our community.

Giving you opportunities to volunteer

Our volunteers make this program possible. Be a Mission: Home hero by signing up with Clean Vibes!

Educating partners, vendors and staff

Our community of partners, vendors and staff are an integral part of all of our sustainability initiatives and are trained on how they can participate when moving into Bayfront Park. Together, we bring Mission: Home to life!

Posting sustainability signage

Throughout our event, you’ll see physical and digital signage reminding you to Leave No Trace, “Connect to Nature”, protect Biscayne Bay and participate in other sustainability initiatives.

Collecting and sharing detailed reports

All sustainability initiatives will be audited and a final report will be compiled to track key learnings and successes. Auditing these initiatives not only ensures compliance, but also builds a foundation for growth in future events. Check out our most recent Impact Report, here!

Giving one paid intern and student volunteers real world industry experience

17 Students interested in learning about sustainable event production will assist with sustainability initiative implementation and auditing, building professional skills while making a positive impact!

Creating this very web page and social media posts

Advanced messaging of our Mission: Home program is intended to educate our community and encourage sustainable behavior among attendees and our global audience. We also hope to inspire other events around the world!

Collecting your ideas about sustainability

We want to hear from U! Our student volunteers will be walking around the festival with an opportunity for you to share your perspectives on sustainability. This information will be used to help us continue improving our program and create a more sustainable industry, and participants will be gifted a special Mission: Home prize, while supplies last! Our annual post-event survey will also include questions about sustainability – sign up for Ultra Passport to receive that survey via email after the show.

Giving you a chance to win tickets by giving back

Our partnership with Fandiem incentivizes our audience to join us in giving back to our community by supporting local environmental and social equity organizations like Debris Free Oceans, Love the Everglades Movement, and The Children’s Village at Lotus Village. We also launched new community events, including Bayfront Bark – a pawty to find fur-ever homes for animals in the care of Miami Dade County Animal Services. Keep an eye out for our next campaign!

Participating in speaking engagements and education

Our sustainability team often speaks on this program and its implementation at events in order to share insights and inspire our industry to operate more sustainably. Contact [email protected] to inquire about speaking engagements.

Selecting sustainable partners

This year’s Winter Music Conference will be held at the Epic Hotel, an iconic venue that has made great strides towards sustainability. This Silver LEED-certified venue has eliminated plastic straws from all their restaurants and bars, installed low flow systems in all bathrooms to conserve water, and recycles unused bathroom amenities through their partnership with Clean the World. At WMC, the Epic will also reduce single-use plastics and have recycling available for attendees. Plus, we’re also exploring opportunities to ensure we continue selecting partners and sponsors that align with our Mission.

Making sustainability accessible to all

We’re working to make Mission: Home more inclusive by placing recycling bins in ADA Viewing Areas and providing straws (made from sustainable materials, of course!) upon request at the ADA Services Hub. Check out our ADA Guide and email [email protected] for special accessibility requests related to Mission: Home, or with suggestions on how to improve!

Increasing harm reduction resources

We’re continuing our partnership with F-Fentanyl, a local organization dedicated to reducing harm through overdose prevention. Stop by their table at the Chill Zone by Main Stage for free resources!

Engaging artists in joining our Mission

In 2025, 12 artists became Founding Members of the Mission: Home Alliance, a platform to highlight and unite Ultra artists and fans that are committing to sustainable practices. Check out the official launch video from earlier this year, and sign up for Ultra Passport to receive email updates that will support you and your favorite artists in protecting our home!

The below Pollution Prevention, Nature Preservation and Climate Action initiatives engage our community too!

Cleaning up the Bayfront Park shoreline with some of our favorite community organizations

“Making Waves”, our annual Bayfront Park shoreline cleanup, was a huge success! In partnership with Clean Miami Beach, Debris Free Oceans, Love the Everglades Movement, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Bye Bye Plastic Foundation and Miami Dade County’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program, over 170 volunteers removed 888 pounds of trash from Bayfront Park’s shoreline on Saturday, March 7th! Volunteers were treated to Ultra merchandise and music, plus one lucky volunteer won a pair of tickets to Ultra! Since 2020, 1,000 cleanup participants have removed over 4,200 pounds of waste from the shoreline. Join us next year.

Dancing while we clean

During the festival, keep an eye out for our Mission: Home heroes coming around in blue Ultra superhero capes to dance with you while we all clean up our dance floors together. Participate and you might just be in for a surprise gift!

Understanding the nature present in Bayfront Park and Biscayne Bay

Local naturalists and ecologists have taught our team about the vegetation and ecosystems present all around Ultra, so that we can work towards preserving them. Our wildlife partners also provide strategies to support the animals that call Bayfront Park home. You can learn too by finding our “Connect to Nature” educational signage placed in special spots throughout the festival.

NEW! Mission: Home Cleanup Countdown

When the lights go down, you can help us cleanup! Stick around at Main and Live Stages for a 20 minute countdown after the end of the show, where you can turn in a bag of trash to receive exclusive Ultra merchandise. Just find the Clean Vibes team at the rail to get a trash bag!

Turning signage into merchandise

We’re giving you the opportunity to take home a piece of Ultra history, with our most sustainable merchandise item – wallets upcycled from previous year’s vinyl signage! This process turns a linear supply chain into a circular system when what would have been waste comes back as your merch! Available for purchase only during the event from Shop Ultra!

Promoting sustainable transportation options

Public transit is much more climate-friendly than personal vehicles, carrying more people with less emissions and providing opportunities to go electric! Skip the traffic and reduce your impact by opting for one of these options.
